My jook (congee) has been on the stove for five hours, and it's starting to stick. I turned the heat off (my stove does not have a low enough Low setting .. next time, crock pot) and set my alarm. I totally started too late today; it won't be done 'til around midnight.What's cookin' at your house

My house is making do with corn tortillas, spinach, potatoes, cheese, and pita pockets. My house needs to go shopping. Maybe for squash. I need to cook more squash.

I didn't go to bed until midnight--I hit that weird insomnia thing and soothed myself by reading some of my old fic. It's nice to know I've improved over the last couple of years. *g*

Hmmm ... your "making do" sounds very good. I need to get corn tortillas next time I find some organic ones.

And squash! Yes, squash. I steamed a bunch of veggies yesterday, including some crook-neck. Yummm.
