Nicely done. As/s stories are always a bit hard to start in terms of making the requisite arrival and sorting scene fresh (which I've been struggling with myself with my as/s fest fic!) but I thought you handled it really well. I actually enjoyed reading it instead of just wanting to speed through it.

And nice to see Slytherins actually trying to be nice to Al, even if it didn't go so well. Poor little Al. I just want to snuggle him.

And also ha! at Hermione's "shorter version" having at least 713 pages.

Are you going to continue?

Good! I'm glad the sorting wasn't the "same old, same old." The first paragraph was probably the hardest to write because I just couldn't figure out how to start the story without it being just like every other AS/S that begins in first year.

And Al's appreciates your snuggles, btw. XD

And H:AH has over 1000 pages (I estimate 1,300. Just because.). So, a shorter version could easily be about 750 pages long. XD (Hermione had trouble deciding which things to keep and which to take out. Plus she had to add a section on House Elves and discuss things from a muggleborn PoV. So she took out almost 700 pages, but added 200. Don't worry though-her editor made a super condensed version only 200 pages long. It's a best seller. The 750-page version has only sold 10 copies...)
