Dominique is next and her piece is basically a counterpoint to Victoire's. I'm kind of excited about posting her to see the reactions about the differences in the two sisters!
y'know, you have this awesome way of writing these pieces that are short but still so heartfelt. you rock :)
again, i thought this was very realistic. it makes sense that when someone loses a person as close as fred was to george, the living character would always be looking for a reflection of their dead relation in their child. i've known that to happen with men who've lost wives or vice-versa, and it's a very difficult position for the child. i hope things get resolved in the fic in the later years and that george comes to love his son for who he is.
i'm also glad you included little pieces about george's wife and roxanne. paints a more complete picture of events :)
Yay! I'm so glad you liked it. And thank you for saying I rock. *blushes* I try to really become a character when I write (something I picked up from being an actress in school) and so I'm always happy to hear that emotions have come across as I wanted them to.
I've really tried to think about how the parents would have treated the kids when I came up with the bios. I just can't imagine some of the parents coming through the war without some scarring and that would have to be reflected in their children. For the younger kids I also took into account how their older siblings would have treated them. (Which you'll see in next week's piece on Dominique.)
And I'm glad you liked the extra details. I've always adored details within fics. :)
i think it's great that you can get into the characters you're writing, it's definitely the way to go about it. how else can you have a full understanding of the character otherwise?
Al and Scorpius have five more kids in front of them unfortunately, but they will get here eventually! They will be a bit angsty though, especially Scorpius... XD
And don't feel too bad. For the most part they did have happy childhoods. It's just human nature to highlight the bad parts of your life and children/teens are often egocentric, so when I write from their perspective it makes sense that it reads as angst. Only a couple of the kids have actually had what I would term "bad" childhoods. Their parents have been wounded by the war though, like you said, so their childhoods have been a little sad.
Hope that makes you feel a little better! And a couple of the bios are quite happy!
