thursday, late afternoon, if you please ^_^ talentd_tongue April 6 2011, 23:48:54 UTC
Uhura had been checking up on Pasha every day since she'd found her covered in garbage and convinced she was still dead. Not in an annoying way, she hoped. She didn't hover. She just made sure that she at least caught sight of the head of curls and the dazed expression. She'd see her on her way out, she'd see her on her way in. Sometimes she tried to feed her. Occasionally it worked ( ... )

"It probably happened right at the beginning of the universe. The moment of the Big Bang. There's probably a reality somewhere out there where nothing ever... banged. Where it's just a non-existence." Heavy. Too heavy for soap lollies and puppies in front of the window. "Sulu is still Hikaru Sulu where I come from."

"Mm, probably." Pasha agreed. "but from what I hawe confered with others, Jim, that is the Keptain Jim who is here. His uniwerse newer experienced the Narada incident, so our uniwerses come from the same fulcrum point of disjointedness from Jim's uniwerse. I think we are meant to turn out like the people in Jim's uniwerse." There were only so many time a girl could say universe in one sentence. "Huh. That is odd. But then again, it might be hard to picture Hikaru as a woman. He is already so girlish with his flowers."

Uhura liked hearing Pasha say universe. Those 'w's were endearing. When Uhura spoke it wasn't cute, just accurate. Hikaru and his flowers. She had no idea what that meant, but she was definitely going to find out when she got home. "So they never appeared in your universe, either?" Uhura had been trying not to wonder what life would have been like without the change. Without that call to arms, without the desperation to force the crew to trust each other. She didn't want to think about it, but apparently it wanted to be thought about.

"No, the Narada incident also happened in my home. But it is my belief that because Jim did not experience it that perhaps his home is the course my own uniwerse and possibly yours was supposed to follow, but did not due to that incident." Pasha explained, beginning to get a little more animated, using her hands to aid her explanation. A horrible part of her wanted to ask if Pavel Chekov had also been the cause of Spock's mother's death, but she dared not to, not when she'd experienced it herself. She didn't want to think about that poor woman.

"I think you're probably right, yes." A universe where Spock's planet still existed, where his family was still whole. A universe where Kirk wasn't a broken child with daddy issues. Which, all right, she didn't know him well enough to make that judgment, but meeting the man he would have turned into had his life not begun with tragedy...

It didn't seem fair. Not to any of them. But that wasn't a thought for today. Today was about Pasha, and she looked more excited and alive than Uhura had seen her in a long time. "It's strange to think how very different our lives could be, just one thing done differently."

"I am a man in two other uniwerses, I think some dewine power might be attempting to tell me something." The Russian girl commented dryly, having been put into a good enough spirit by the candy to attempt making a joke. It admittedly wasn't of her usual good natured level, but still good enough with how she'd been feeling.

"I'm a man in your universe," Uhura reminded Pasha with a smile, teasing her right back. "I've been trying to wrap my head around it and I keep on getting stuck at..." Uhura cleared her throat and made a vague circular motion over her chest. "I can't imagine I make a very good looking man."

"Yes." Pasha agreed. "That is something that I keep getting confused with." Before all of this had happened, she'd tried pulling her hair back from her face, trying to figure out what she would look like as a man, but it hadn't worked out. "You do." Pasha contradicted. "But you make a wery pretty woman as well. It is odd to see you as a woman."

"Thank you." Uhura knew she was pretty. False modesty had never sat well with her. Still, Pasha's compliment was genuine and sweet, and Uhura took it in the spirit with which it was offered. "You make a much better looking woman than I would have imagined... not that I ever actually imagined Pavel as a woman." If Uhura made an attractive man, then clearly their was quite a bit of difference in their body type and facial features. Uhura could see Pavel in Pasha, though. The young man had an impishness that was most androgynous. Odd thing to be thinking about.

Pasha started crunching on her lollipop, feeling the stick candy getting stuck to her teeth, sucking it to try and dislodge it with her tongue. Uhura's comment made her laugh very faintly. Yes, that still felt weird to laugh, but it was better than not laughing at all. "I could not imagine myself as male. A wery odd thought indeed." She commented, shaking her head.

"You make a cute boy," Uhura assured her. "I wish I could show you a picture, but I don't have any." She wouldn't mind seeing one of herself, either. It was just so very strange. It was impossible to quash the desire to witness it, even if she couldn't do so first hand.

Pasha paused for a moment, clearly thinking to herself, her lower lip pushed out. "I am not certain whether to be glad or worried that I can perciewed as a 'cute' male." Her forehead crinkled further. "I think that if I were a boy I would probably be more worried but I think am glad as this equates to me being 'cute' as a female also." She slowly put together, it felt odd to think again after blankly wandering and moping about.

"Basically." It was more than she'd seen the girl talking since they'd met. This gave Uhura a great deal of hope. "Have you eaten today?" She was careful to keep the question light sounding, as though it were mere curiosity and not worry prompting it.

"Yes." On a technicality, she wasn't lying. She'd just eaten a lollipop. Pasha curled her fingers around one of her curls, thinking to herself silently once again. "Hawe you?" She asked, trying to be as polite as she could.

Uhura shook her head. "Not really. Not since breakfast, and an apple is hardly a meal. I'm thinking..." She tapped her chin with her finger a couple of times. "That today is a good day for soup." Soup would be easy to eat, especially if Pasha hadn't been having much in her stomache lately. "We should get some soup."
