Friday, whenever he'd be around. fallsoutofbox June 10 2011, 04:09:25 UTC
The Doctor rarely left the lab these days. He had been constantly alternating between tinkering with the computers and working on the Huon project - either with others or alone.

Pretty much the only time he left anymore was to go care for his dragon, who had been staying at the animal shelter ever since he'd found her again. He was just getting back from such an outing when he discovered Scott working.

He went right up behind the man, leaning over his shoulder to study the diagram. "Ah." ...And then he remembered how Scott tended to get prickly about personal space. It was something the Doctor noticed rather easily, since he tended to get in people's personal space.

He backed off a bit. "Interesting. It's getting there, I think."

He gave Scott's shoulder a little squeeze. "Okay." If he said so. At least a heightened need for physical closeness was far from the worst thing that could happen to somebody.

"So. Ah. No. No current ideas. No concrete ones. But, if we can work out what caused it, or even perhaps reverse it, that could go a long way toward solving the greater problem of getting everybody out."

"Does anyone have know exactly when the borders shut themselves down?" he asked. "It might be a bit of a long-shot, but if there's anything that happened just before they closed... Could be some correlation of events..."

"Less than a month ago. 'Bout three weeks?" Which, yes, was not exact. Shut up. "Doctor Rush must have her data around here somewhere..." He got up, moving toward where they stashed the hard copies of their research.

"No, I'm talkin' exact time," Scott said. "Have we got anything watchin' the city? Keepin' track o' fluctuations in... whatever we need t'keep track of?" Given the humble and meager state of the equipment they had to work with, not very likely. By this point, Scott would have given anything to have a setup like the Enterprise's, with sensors and scanners running at all times, logging data in the computers, saving every scrap of information that might be important.

"Probably not," he said, sounding just as frustrated as Scott felt. Primitive technology. He started flipping through files, fingers flying across the tops of folders.

"We should fix that." How, he wasn't quite certain, but having something to keep an eye on the city and log as much information as possible would make it so much easier to understand the place, to work out patterns in the way it worked.

"Some way of monitoring the entire city...?" He pulled out the file with a thoughtful look. "Could always modify the Huon scanner after it's served its purpose. Better than just dismantling it."

"Could do, yeah." He stretched a bit, and paused to check his watch. Still had some time before he ought to be heading over to the Hell House.
