Jessica had be more than happy to accept the invitation out. A girl's night was something she never really got to have at home, unless you counted bothering Pam at Fangtasia as a girl's night (it was the closest she got to it). Really, she didn't have any real female friends at home. Not after she had been changed.

And when she went out in Bon Temps, it was always with Hoyt. And she always had to worry about his delicate human feelings and all that bullshit, and sometimes all she wanted to do was have fun. It was liberating, being here in some ways. She could do whatever she wanted.

Which is why she was out on the dance floor, dressed to kill. She closed her eyes, letting herself get lost in the music. There was something so freeing about this. She could do whatever she wanted. Be whatever she wanted.

Christine shimmied her hips to the beat and lifted her arms in the air. It'd been far too long since she'd let loose like this, but it was also long overdue.

With so many people on the floor, it was inevitable that she'd bump into someone, and this poor person had her eyes closed.

"Whoops! Sorry 'bout that!" Recognizing Jessica suddenly, Christine grinned. "Hey, it's you!"

"Christine right?" Jessica asked, trying to remember correctly. When she had first talked to the other woman she had been in somebody else's body. And Sookie had been in hers. It had been really, really confusing, to say the least.

"Yeah! And you're... uh, hold on, I know this." Perhaps she would have been quicker to recall had she not done so many shots, but then she snapped her fingers and it came to her.

"Jessica! From Bon Temps."

"That'd be me." She laughs a little. "Guess my accent gives me a little way, don't it?"

"Just a bit, yeah. Though this city is full of different accents. You're in good company there."

The song changed and Christine switched up her dance moves to follow along.

"Tonight's fun, isn't it?"

"I noticed. Some people here are really funny soundin'."

She grins, nodding in agreement as she shifted to the music as it changed. "It is. I'm glad I decided to come."

"There's always so much to worry about in the city," Christine added. "It's never safe, weird things happen all the time, friends can disappear in the blink of an eye." She shook her head and clicked her tongue, though the latter action probably wasn't heard over the sound of the music.

"So that's why I'm glad this whole thing was organized. We're hanging out with friends, meeting new people, and it's great!"

"I ain't been here long enough for anyone I know to dissapear or nothin' just yet, but I imagine that's gotta really fuckin' blow," Jessica said, frowning at the thought. This place really liked to play with them, didn't it?

But she tried not to focus on that.

"It is real nice of Diana and her friend to put this together for everyone and all."

"It sure is," Christine agreed. "Very thoughtful and very much needed right now." With tensions rising between human and non-human, a night out to relax was just what the doctor ordered, so to speak.

"You're a good dancer too."

"It seems like it. So much stuff always goin' on from what I read, don't leave much time for fun havin'."

Not that she had been having that much trouble enjoying herself, but she had been trying to keep it to a minimum, what with the rising tensions and all.

"Thanks. There's always somethin' real freein' about losing yourself to it, you know?"

"Oh, I definitely know what you mean. I danced for years growing up. More of a disciplined dance -- ballet -- but it still felt like I was free to express myself."

Of course, just shaking it to the beat and not doing established moves was the epitome of freedom in dance.

"I ain't got that much practice, my parents were kind of against me doin' stuff like this. Said it might tempt me away from Jesus." There was an eye roll as she said that.

"But I'm enjoin' gettin' to do it now."

Christine tried not to laugh at that, and mostly succeeded by ducking her head. There were still religious people in the 23rd century, of course, but much fewer than there had once been.

"Well I'm glad you have the opportunity. I'm sure plenty of men and women enjoy seeing your moves too."

"I 'magine show. I usually notice a few men watchin' at least, but then again it don't take much for men to watch women." She didn't mind though. It was kind of exciting, like a sense of power really.

"Mmm, that's the truth." Christine really didn't mind, but she never danced just for men. It was her style to only dance for herself.

"Now if you were from my time, you'd see some interesting sights on the dance floor. Like alien species with extra appendages."
