It was obviously a lot more intimate than the first time they'd danced this way, with Draco's arm looped close around Zero's waist so that there was little chance of coming between them, even if other people wanted to, which he sincerely doubted they wanted to. No matter how off-balance Zero was, there was very little chance of them actually toppling over or anything like that; even the tiniest fumble probably wouldn't put their tempo off terribly. Suffice to say, they looked good.
"Tragically, I can't imagine that being all that fun. This is far better," Draco replied, stifling a smirk.
Draco never had a problem with having fun during waltzing; the only problem was that he rarely did. This, however, was an exception. Whether it was the entire nature of the setting or just Zero was up in the air, but he wasn't about to question it: it was a bit like looking a gift horse in the mouth. "Fine. We'll practice those some other time," Draco rolled his eyes, sniggering to himself. "I'll leave you upright for now."
He sniggered to himself, arm tightening around Zero's waist to keep him on his feet. "Don't fall now. Maybe we ought to have given this a bit more practice," he murmured, thinking back to how it had degraded last time. Perhaps it was too much to ask for that it degrade the same way, particularly considering that Ianto would have their heads for bringing more heat down on Hellsing if they were caught.
Not minding one way or another, he simply continued to hold the other man close while they rotated around the floor, ignoring double-takes from anyone curious enough to care. "You're probably right. Merlin only knows what we would have ended up doing instead." He smirked, leaving it hanging; they were both very much on the same page, he knew. "But still. It couldn't have hurt to give it another go at some point."
"Eventually I'll offer you that courtesy," he sniggered, watching briefly Zero's small gesture. In truth, he wouldn't have minded following for a change, nor would he have minded the clear intimacy Zero was thinking of; they couldn't have been the only couple in the room. But at the same time, this did offer him the ability to remain aloof, even if he wouldn't deny any questions about the pair of them at a later date.
"You're welcome," Draco replied before they lapsed into silence. While Zero wasn't paying attention to anything but Draco and the dance itself, the blond was focused on everything around them, still watching his back for anything that might bite him in the arse, metaphorically speaking. Once he was satisfied that no one was around that would notice him for anything more than the tall blond in the suit, and once the music had slowed sufficiently to give Zero a bit of leeway as far as their swaying went, he leaned in to steal a brief kiss.
It was nothing they could be chastised for - it was no worse than some of the public snogging seen by other random couples around the city - but enough to show a little bit of appreciation and affection. After all, Draco knew the issue of the shoes would doubtless come up soon. For the time being, they could continue to dance, until the notion of sitting down, or of food teased them away from the floor.
Draco couldn't help but snigger as he realised Zero caught a glimpse of the food being presented; it was almost a loss to their dance, but there would be more music, and more opportunity during which to press against each other innocently.
