It was honestly Zero's fault that Draco was dressed up at all. The choice to be a pirate hadn't been his in the slightest, though at least it did lend itself towards being somewhat dapper. Even if he had raised his eyebrows sky high at the idea of having a hook all night (and promptly pitched that into the nearest bin).

Tragically for anyone who approached, he really didn't look like he was enjoying himself. Perhaps it was merely the blond scruff that adorned his face, proving exactly why he shouldn't grow facial hair; perhaps it was the fact that he really didn't want to be there.

Either way.

"Always. Don't get...whatever's on your face on me, either," Draco drawled back, only glancing back long enough to learn that touching Zero's face was not within the realm of immediate possibility.

"Remind me why we're here?"

He gave Zero a slightly dark look before rolling his eyes elsewhere, letting them land on nothing in particular - despite that, 'nothing in particular' seemed to steal quite a bit of his focus, and Draco frowned slightly as he stared at it. "I-"

He paused a moment, then blinked slowly. "Don't wipe your face on me, there are napkins for that. And I do like social events. Just not these social events."

The blond wasn't about to explain what all was catching his attention; truth be told, he didn't actually know exactly what it was. Just that it was fascinating, and needed to steal his attention away. He rolled his eyes then, even despite leaning slightly into Zero's hand. "I don't want to be rugged. Ruggedness implies that I'm some kind of bloody mountain man."

Bleh. Who wanted that.

Thankfully, Draco doubted that anyone was actually paying attention to the pair of pirates hanging out to one side, particularly when apparently the entire world knew they were together. All the same, he shifted away from Zero's hand after he determined it had been long enough; "I don't want to wrestle bears. Or dig up edible roots. I get them from the apothecary."

He wasn't being moody, he was exasperated: there was a difference. Either way, he leaned forward, taking a bite of the proffered apple, and leaned back, chewing it thoughtfully. Only after he swallowed the piece down did he bother leaning forward again to make an attempt at getting Zero to feel better with a brief kiss to the mouth. "I just don't see why Muggles bother with this rot."

"Why would you want to? I can't wait till I can shave this ridiculous mess off," Draco murmured, looking more like a child who wasn't getting his way than any kind of annoyed.

"Like you wouldn't have said something to me if I hadn't," he pouted, turning to snake one arm around Zero's waist to pull him close enough to lean his chin against.
