Buffy was doing as she usually did -- out on patrol, keeping an eye out for vampires and evil-doers and everything else that came with living in Bete Noire. Sometimes it just added up to breaking up bar fights, but tonight had been pretty quiet.
She slipped her hands in the pockets of her pea coat, making her way down the street, and she didn't even blink an eye when she saw the form coming her way. She recognized him -- the benefit of getting eyes on all the demon hunters in the area, and being friends with both Sams.
"Hey Dean," she said with a thin smile. "Where's your car?"

This was someone he hadn't met before. A looker too, but he couldn't think about that, not after being sent to have another month with Lisa and be reminded what he was missing as much as he did have that looming fear of commitment hanging around him when he was there in Cicero.
"Y'know I was just askin' myself the same thing." It'd make this a hell of a lot easier that's for sure and the chick version of himself had said something about her being around. Back home she was sitting in the garage and it didn't do her justice. He could stand to be at the wheel right now.
Buffy frowned at that. That car was their car. The fact that they didn't know was never a good sign, especially in a city like this. Odds were that meant that someone had probably stolen it.
"You don't know?"
That ... was probably not going to be good if Sam found out.
Buffy's eyes widened a bit at that, before cringing. "Oh, God, I'm sorry. I didn't realize we still had two. I mean, I know Sam was looking for you, but he seemed to be ... you know, not with the finding."
"That's because I was sent home for a month and then pulled right back into the same crap," he said with a tone that was bitter sounding but a face that looked borderline amused. "Just rolled into town and was on my way t'find a place to stay. Realized I don't remember my way around worth a damn."
She gave a half-laugh at that. "City changes things up every once in a while. Likes to keep things interesting." There was a beat as she turned to glance around. "Do you remember where you were staying?"
She took a breath, before thinking things over in her head. "Another you and Sam got kicked out of the Victoria, so that's a no-go. Did you crash at the hostel?"
She's just running through the most likely scenarios, Dean. Feel free to stop her if anything sounds familiar.
"Hostel it is," she nodded, before turning and pointing. "That's this way." And then she'll slide her hands in her pockets and fall into step next to him. Because clearly she was going to go with him.
The city changes its streets. Figures. He'd been wondering why it was so damn hard to find the hostels after an hour of walking. "Thanks, but I'll take my chances." He'd rather do this on his own. People were baggage in the long run and he wanted this day to himself.
She sighed. Some people just didn't know how to take a hand when they needed it. But she at least won't let him be totally stupid. She'll pull her spare stake out of her pocket and toss it to him.
His brows instantly shoot up at that. "Thanks," not the first time he's run into blood suckers here as he recalls. "Guess you already know who I am so I don't have t'introduce myself."

"Can't say that I do," the city had really pulled the punches last time. He was just dead on his feet and needed to sleep off the impending hang over.

"You might need it."
She's sure that he can figure out how to use it.
