Yeah so back from being kidnapped I guess. Nice where I can disappear for days on end and everyone thinks I've just popped out for a bit of a vacation!

You're the first one to ask me that.

And no. I'm not all right. I was dragged through my own window, flown halfway across the city, tied up, put down, and stuck in a cabin in the middle of nowhere by insane murdering bastards.

I'd feel better about it if I though any of that experience was going to matter. But it won't. It never does. They won't be caught, or a police report won't be filed, and I get to feel unsafe for the rest of my unnatural life. Never mind the teasing I'm going to get from the other vampires about this bullshit.

I don't know where you're from, Doctor, but I'm pretty normal where I come from. Perfectly average. It was only when I came here that being myself was actually considered being exceptionally moral.

I don't know, it just seems...really depressing that things are as bad as they are.

I've been all sorts of places. The truth is, wherever you go, you're bound to find a mix of people whose intentions are good, and those whose intentions are... not so good. And the baseline isn't always the same.

You're right; the bar here is fairly low. All the more reason for us to stick together.
