[audio] many different locks, and not all at once - time and filter noted for each - BACKDATED

[locked to Percy Weasley]Tony Stark has been reduced to a child-like state in order to preserve his mind and keep him from seriously injuring himself. I made all decisions that led to this outcome and I take full responsibility for it, as well as for him. I'd like to do so as a representative of the government, since the power of the Magistrate is ( Read more... )

Sounds like kidnapping to me.

[Yeah, he's getting more than a little annoyed that his patients keep getting sequestered away where he can't get to them.]

And who decided he'd be safer with a government agent?

The government agent who found him attempting to rip his own skin off and claw something out of the base of his skull.

[Okay, so that is a rather extreme situation. Still no excuse for kidnapping, though.]

We could've put him on a locked ward, monitored him 24/7. Are you going to be able to watch him round the clock, Ms. Government Agent?

And just watched him get worse until his brain function ceased entirely?

I'm going to watch him around the clock. It's easier now that he's no longer exhibiting any of the physical or mental symptoms that caused him to be hospitalized.

[He's got brand new ones now, but at least they aren't killing him.]

Right, because I love watching a patient tear himself apart. [Sheesh--he might be a dick but he's not that insensitive. For one thing, losing a patient would do bad things to his rep.]

And what makes you think you can help him? What medical school did you go to? How many cyborgs have you taken care of?

Wait--what do you mean he's not exhibiting any symptoms?

I received basic medical training from Starfleet, but at this point it's really more care-giving than anything else.

Bennett has his mind on a computer wedge, and she's working off of scans.

[Her access to Tony might be limited, but her access to information on him is unrestricted. Uhura want him fixed A.S.A.P. and Bennett might be shit with people, but she's great with the tech.]

His body is in a doll state. He's no longer in pain, no longer hearing the voices, no longer sensitive to light, and no longer trying to rip his skin off. He's essentially a child, but he's fine.

Basic medical training. Well, no way that can go wrong.

[He's somewhat reassured to know Bennett's still working with Tony but the rest...asdjkl! Whj do people insist on thinking they know best when they so clearly don't?]

Of course, he's fine. Take anyone's mind away and they'll be happy as clams. In fact, they are clams. They're certainly not people anymore.

Well, two complete medical educations and careers weren't doing him any good.

All the expertise and knowledge in the world doesn't mean much to a dead patient. Your patient was dying. Now he's not. Now you have time to get it right, if you can. I'll take temporary clam over permanently dead any day.

Now, do you want to be a dick to me, or do you want to be part of trying to fix him? Because I've had a very long day and I'm just not sure I'm up for dealing with any more egotistical doctors who have the conceit to believe that this is somehow about them. My patience is just about gone.

Seems egotism isn't restricted to doctors.

I want full access to Stark and any information about his care. And since I'm the doctor he chose and not the super-secret government agent who kidnapped him, you really have no right to stop me.

Whether or not you think I have the right to stop you, I assure you I have the power to. You want to get to Mr. Stark, you go through me, and under no circumstances am I leaving him alone with you. Take it or leave it.

[On this point, Uhura will not nudge. She takes her commitments very seriously, and she made a promise.]

Well, that's a 'generous' offer but I think I'll see what Lily Potter has to say about it.

I don't know who she is, but it might save me some time if you just show her this conversation. I assure you, the same terms will apply to her.

No problem. I'll be happy to give Lily all the pertinent information.

[Because Lily likes him and she's a witch so... :-P~~~]

[So of course Uhura is curious now, so she looks up Lily.]

Mrs. Potter has power of attorney over Mr. Stark's estate. When you talk to her, please inform her that she needs to take over the day to day handling of his business affairs. There is, however, no record of her having medical power of attorney. As such, legal decision making in a medical capacity is still mine.

[Tony trusts Lily, but apparently not that much. Sorry, House. Looks like you're stuck with Uhura.]

[The next sound you hear is House shutting off the phone. He's just going to find another way to his patient.]

[Of course agreeing to just work nicely with Uhura is out of the question, because this is House we're talking about . :3 Let the games begin.]
