It... is a bit geocentric. Some species get twitchy about it.

Oh no. No no no. Alien means non-native.

Okay, so an 'alien invasion' of Bete Noire could include an invasion of humans?

Yes it could.

Alright.

Just be careful about using the term; a lot of non-humans from planets other than Earth are going to assume you're talking about them.

Pretty self-centered of them.

Happens a lot when you start dealing with humans. You wouldn't believe the amount of people who tell me I 'look human,' even though Time Lords were around a lot earlier.

So in essence, we all look like Time Lords?

From a Time Lord's perspective, yes. In all fairness, we did get there first.

And it is mostly a matter of perspective. But the thing about pre-thirty-fifth-century humans is, at least in my reality, they didn't quite get that. Ran around calling everything else they ran into 'aliens' as though they still thought the whole universe spun around them. Put a lot of other species right off. Hence the aforementioned twitchiness.

But. What.

That makes no sense. How the hell can two species evolve independently from each other and share almost all physical characteristics the exception being really big foreheads apparently? Are you sure our species didn't intermate or something? The odds of us looking exactly alike without prior interaction are astronomical.

Or, taking it from the other direction, you could say that as time goes on and more and more species start to appear, the odds of two evolving to look similar increases. Anyway, it's only a superficial resemblance.

So on the insides, Time Lords are all filled with Miracle Whip?

Well. There's some similarities. If you prick us, et cetera. But our physiology and overall biochemistry are vastly different to a human's. Or at least recognizably so.

And yet you look exactly like us. How the hell did you manage that.

I could ask you the same question.

You think we could have had a common ancestor?
