I am quite serious about it, sir. Any help you might provide would be greatly appreciated.
I've also taken measures to keep myself well-protected thus far. [or as well-protected as an 18 year old can manage; the flicker of doubt may be somewhat obvious to Snape.]

[It's rare in Snape's experience that a Malfoy would so blatantly admit needing help, so he seems to be taking Draco seriously; he also catches that waver of doubt, and knows Draco may not have a whole lot of support to fall back on]

Looking high and low for anything I might need, and stockpiling it as best I can based on how I recall you keeping things in the classroom. [it's not working very well, and the faint bite to his tone suggests exactly that.]

There are a thousand and one different methods of organization. Copying mine will hardly do you much good when it is you who will be using your own storeroom.
...Alphabetically works, to begin. Or divide by animal and plant bases. Or separate the poisonous and the expensive from the everyday, but find at least one method where you aren't fumbling around in your own cabinets.

Duly noted.
I have window boxes, sir. A number of them. I'm afraid my limited knowledge of the myriad names for a single plant is currently preventing me from having as diverse a selection as I'd like.

Did I not instruct you to contact me in case of mislabeling? Expecting you to know every plant by sight alone is slightly beyond even NEWT-level students.
You will return to my office. You will borrow my book. And then you will not take issue with limited sight-based knowledge again.

Have you set up a garden plot yet?

[sceptically:] In the hostel?

There is a courtyard in the middle of it. If that is too public a domain, start with window boxes.

All the same, I'll be there. [it'll give him something to do anyway. But by God, if Draco isn't starting to be glad Snape's actually dead...]

Oh? What other things, then?

Largely work. [and a few other things we won't be mentioned, because that's a need to know basis, sir.]
