[The room he's sitting in is indistinguishable, walls white and neutral, no pictures, no marks. Nothing that could give his location away. He's hoping that the mic on his device isn't sensitive enough to pick up nearby noises, either.

His expression matches the walls; unreadable and giving nothing away. He's very good at pretending to be ( Read more... )

Depends what the younger people are after.

[Jim would love to know how old 'younger' would be...]

Change of scenery. Alcohol. What most younger people want.

[And so he can do some homework. But that part is super secret.]

You know of anywhere that's particularly popular?

I might know a few. [He lists a few.] Why, you looking for someone to spend some time with?

[he thinks you're after girls, Arthur. 8|]

[Oh, if only his life was that simple.]

Not-- I guess you could say I'm just looking to spend time with people who're the same as me. [Especially people who look the same. In fact, people who look identical. In summary: Zachary Finch.]

This city's not exactly the most friendly.

I know what you mean. [He smiles, despite the vague feeling of unease at 'same as me'.]

I'd be happy to let you tag along and point out some of the friendlier ones, if you're interested.

A few of them. I'm sure you can find someone who knows what or who you're looking for. [He doesn't mean anything by the comment, he's just amused that Arthur wouldn't just head out and find his own people to spend time with.]

I'm Jim, by the way. Jim Kirk.

[Interpreting the statement as correctly as he can manage, Arthur's already practised his logical explanation.]

Let's just say I've seen what happens on the streets when you go out alone. I'd rather meet people who aren't into tearing your head off when you try starting a conversation. People with someone who at least sounds sane enough to vouch for them? That's even better.

[And then a pause.] ...Arthur.

[That gets a laugh.] You're in luck. Heads really aren't my thing.

I appreciate the clarity. They're not really my thing either.

I'll take you up on that offer whenever you've got the time.

[There's the barest of pauses while he considers what he wants over what he's sure Eames will want.]

Tonight sounds perfect.
