[Lance got back home on Sunday night, and now it’s Monday he has a bunch of things he needs to say to people-at various points during the day/evening. For those who spoke to him not long before he left? He sounds worlds better. Calm, and not in a weary faking-it sort of way. Tranquil.]

So-July to December, to... August? And nothing's happened?

Oh, no. Well, you mean related to the apocalypse? We had an idiot wizard who kidnapped the souls of the former Magistrate and one of the long-term residents. Managed to get Eve's back, but the Magistrate died and her powers got distributed among the city residents.

And the wizard asked for help to assassinate God. That was a little while later, though.

The Magistrate has powers? Why Eve? [ He's trying to fill in the blanks you're dropping here, Lance, but give him some help. He'll get to the God assassination thing later... ]

Of course. The Magistrate is to Bete Noire what Noah and Nimrod were to Yellow Springs and Babylon. And because she's been around for a while, I suppose.

[Yep, still not giving away the whole bound to the city thing. :X]

You just said she died. [ Yeah, he's not really buying the second part. Sounds fishy to him, but he can't place why. Damn goose chases. ]

She did. That's why I had to go to Earth to get her sister. Glory.

And this city didn't collapse because...?

Because her powers got distributed among the team members who tried to rescue her. And then spread like a virus among the rest. Kinda kept the place together. Not in terribly good condition, but kept it from collapsing, at least.

[He's just a fount of information, isn't he?]

[ Yeah, this doesn't sound right. If her powers could do that, what about Noah? Nimrod? Damn, now he's going to have to double-check everything else Lance has told him. Not that he wasn't going to, but it was nice to pretend this could have all been told straight the first time he heard it. ]

... Right. So we just have to make sure her sister stays alive now?

[So untrusting, Chris! If you'd only ask for clarification, he'd be able to tell you! Like the fact that Babylon was empty aside from Nimrod. And that Yellow Springs was filled with dead people. And also, naked soul.]

She has another sister. But yes, that would be prudent.

[ It still doesn't make sense! If one soul had a defense mechanism, why didn't the others? you'd better believe he's untrusting, though, live in his time for a while and you'd be the same ]
