Other Characters Played: N/A
Preferred Housing: N/A

Character Name: Casimiro (no canon last name)
Character Series: Hanna is Not a Boy’s Name
Character Age: He has no canon age. In vampire years he’s supposedly pretty old, his appearance is about late twenties-early thirties.
Background: Here is the cast-info page from the webcomic itself, and here is a collection of other facts from the creator, arranged by a reader.

Personality: As as stand-alone man, Casimiro is the main event. At least, that’s how he projects himself. His presence is that of someone who has a little too much confidence, which often puts him right in everyone’s faces. He is bold and completely unrestrained in his speech. Although he does have the tendency to at least filter vulgarities (for the most part), he speaks his mind without any censoring. His “act first think later” mentality may have something to do with that. When he speaks to new people, he often has the simple ulterior motive of either bullying or manipulating them. In the case of the former, he is boisterous and rude, with little to no reflection on how his mannerisms may be perceived by others. In the case of the latter, he can be quite smarmy. Some flattery mixed in with a snide, smart-ass comment, for example. Either way, conversations with Casimiro usually end with either shouting or an intervention by his other half, Finas.

Even when next to his ambiguously-platonic-undead-life-partner Finas (which he always is), Casimiro is still the monkey in the spotlight. Not too difficult a task, considering Finas’ taciturn nature. However, it is amplified considering the two are like night and day. It is easy to speculate that these two were created as complimentary characters, two individuals intended to fulfill an equivalence through their duality. They are always seen together, they’ve been together for a considerably long time (the actual length undisclosed by the creator), and they know each other so well they could theoretically finish each others’ sentences. Casimiro is the speaker, Finas is the observer. Casimiro acts, Finas thinks. Similar comparisons could be made in the form of a very lengthy list, but the gist of the matter is that Casimiro is the “chaos” to his counterpart’s “order”. And yes, he does like to intentionally bother Finas too; it’s in his nature.

Being the chaotic archetype, Casimiro’s temper is very short. While he does not take to personal offense quite as quickly, if he is denied something he can get very impatient. Impatience with Casimiro more often than not leads to violence. But there is a division of types of violence in his character; specifically two. The first is “playful” violence, which he insists is only used in good fun (the “good fun” part being extremely subjective). The second type of violence is more akin to an uncontrollable rage, in which he literally turns into an inhumane monster. This type is not seen as often, mostly because it requires a good amount of ignorance and/or goading from another party. The only person who can alleviate him from this stage is Finas (although Zombie seems to have had an effect too). Casimiro’s inability to restrain his actions reinforces the idea of the “chaotic” trope, and also outlines his temperament and self-discipline as being extremely weak.

Casimiro is boastful, and great with putting up a pretense. As briefly mentioned earlier, he has a fondness for manipulation, which ties in with this aspect. He plays the role of the “better man”, and vocalizes it unabashedly (thus making him the opposite of what he says). He carries this deceptive attitude even to trivial things such as poker games, in which he has been caught blatantly cheating before. When called out on his obvious lies, he either changes the subject, turns the topic around on the other person, or adds another suave lie to cover it up. It’s a vicious circle. He is also not above giving threats and providing ultimatums, which reveals his true nature rather bluntly.

Somewhere within the depths of Casimiro’s not-so-appealing character there might be a silver lining to redeem him. But at present, there isn’t much to go on.

Abilities: Casimiro is a vampire, and therefore has all the goodies every other vampire has. Superhuman strength, speed, bat-mode, etc. He also has another ability which ties in with his aforementioned “inhumane monster” form (Here and here. It was mentioned via the creator's Q&A that this is something unique to all vampires; Casimiro was just the first to show it in canon. It is also unknown as to what effects, good or bad, this form has. We just know it’s there, and is most likely not very good for him. He also mentioned (via the artist Q&A) that his blind eye is the result of some event that had occurred after he had become a vampire, and that it is a part of “the curse”. What this curse is, we don't know.

Sample Entry:

[Filtered from the drones:]

Okay. I can get used to the new “alive” look. The ugly house is tolerable and I’ll put up with this ridiculous job.

But the thing that really gets under my skin is these worthless drones telling me I’ve been here all my life. If I hear that pathetic excuse of a “wife” talk about “that one Christmas party” one more time…!

[There’s a pause as he’s composing himself. One could almost hear him quietly seething for a minute.]

… Heh. You know what’s good for taking your mind off of things? Poker. You listening? Good, let’s get together and have ourselves a game. I’ve got the liquor, just be sure to bring your checkbooks.
