And yes, none of the people I know appreciate manga. When I told my mom I was reading Tsubasa, she asked, "what's it about" and I asked her if she really wanted to know and she looked at my excitement knowing that I'd launch into a long and complicated summary and said "Nevermind..."
Same with mine. After reading chapter 221 (Sakura and Syaoran's confession) I burst into my mom's room and announced 'they've finally confessed' and she replied 'it's a story, Beth, get a life'. Harsh. xD
