So Christmas. I guess it really wasn't that great. Growing up, almost all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins would come to my house to exchange presents and stay pretty late. Other people move on to other things, but I don't. I just mourn everyone else's absence, you know? I guess I really miss the days of the TMBG offtopic list and the KITH newsgroup, because I felt a hell of a lot more connected to people back then.

I think it's much the same way for me. It reminds me of how, when a new year would start up at college, everyone tended to be really friendly and welcoming. Then, after a few months, people would often start hanging around only with their own groups of friends, leaving people like me out. And that's also true for the Internet. Maybe it's partially my fault for not making enough effort to keep up with everybody, but in the past I didn't really need to, and I'm not sure what always changes that results in everyone growing apart.
