Beth,

I believe wholeheartedly in cycles. You did for someone else what you cannot do for yourself... I can do for you what I cannot do for myself...

I was just talking about my horrific apprentice. I try and teach him, but he just wants to DO, not LEARN.

I would love to LEARN. Especially since when my arthritis gets bad and my hands shake and I can no longer pierce, I really want to do exactly what it is I cannot do for myself - for someone else.

I've done it before... I've been the PA, the cheerleader, the freaky-deaky stalkery reminder... the one who's always right there, because she needs to be in order for everything to get done.

I know I'm probably overeager, and since I'm a Beth Hommel Fangirl, I'm probably not what you're looking for, but as someone with a portfolio herself, I know how to organize photos, I don't mind labelling them ad nauseum, and I'm good with creating google docs spreadsheets and emailing lists.

I'm also a fan of doing it for love and beer.

Let me know.

Faith

I would be more than happy to help you with your book. I've done quite a lot of beta-reading/editing before, and I'd love to be helpful.

I probably wouldn't be a good fit for the rest, as I do not live in NYC, however, if little projects that can be done from a ways away (or, even, really, projects that could be helped by having someone come down for a weekend. I only live a couple hours' bus ride away.)

Please let me know. I'm a wonderful organizer and filer and manager-of-unruly-stuff (it's my job, actually), and I would love to be of help.

My e-mail's in my profile. At the very least, I send you some massive hugs.

I second Mint.com for tracking spending, though my bank's website also does it and automatically sorts charges into categories, which is handy. Also, an update to your list: V-Day is Monday. :)

Hang in there, you'll find awesome interns! And you'll continue to do an amazing job until then, I don't doubt it.

i organize my photos in folders by date, which makes the most sense to me. as in:

2011-02-11 Amber Cheese concert with Joe Blow and Stephanie Whochaboblatz

it not only serves as a diary of your life, but it's easier to find things because you can say "well, I know it was in 2004, and it was summer, so it's in these three months"...
