If someone were to send me an invitation I'd try it. I expect it will take some time before Dreamwidth's communities are as established as LJ's/

I follow a number of communities on LJ, which makes it unlikely that I'd abandon it altogether.

I really like having a viable option if the company that bought LJ does something appalling to it (up to and including going out of business). My journal is now backed up on Dreamwidth. The crossposting function is very nice.

If everyone on my flist went to Dreamwidth, I'd probably just stop bothering with lj. I'm already pretty close to giving up on it.
