I was searching for something in the refrigerator, caught sight of a container full of salad I knew was past its prime, and thought, "I need to remember to delete that."

Delete.  Drag to the trash.  Makes perfect sense, assuming I live in the Matrix.

But what I really want are video remote control commands on life. Mute. Rewind. Fast Forward.

Wouldn't having those commands wind up in the end seeing you in a hospital bed, weighing six hundred pounds, and with your spouse married to someone else, and Christopher Walken saying "I told you so?"

I don't know if you're a Unix person, but sudo is the command that gives you root access in Unix - basically gives you total power over the system. If only *that* worked in real life! Well, if I was the only one who knew the password. :-)

I also would love it if my life came with something like 'Arrange Icons By...' for the desktop. I could right click on my bed room, select 'Arrange objects by.. ', choose 'functionality', and all my clothes would be in the closet, all my books would be in the bookcase, all my shoes would be lined up neatly. That'd be great.

I have often wished that life came with unambiguous emoticons. I realize that facial expressions are the original emoticons, but still, sometimes when I've made a joke and realize in the subsequent silence that it has gone over like a lead balloon, I wish I could append a little :-) to it.
