signs everywhere
It seems that I look for signs to prove that something is right. It may seem a little strange to some, but I sometimes I jsut need a little bit of proof. WEll, signs are just smcking me in the face these days. School, spiritually, friends, you name it . . . it is hitting me. To point out a few (and I will put it behind a cut because it gets a bit
So I stopped by the newman center a couple of months ago. I mainly stopped by for a social visit, because I wasn't really meeting people down here. When I went to mass, I instantly felt very comfortable there. WEll, the sermon that evening was "One body many parts" This is something that was frequently read while we were down in Kentucky. I always really enjoy particular reading.
The following wednesday night at mass, the priest announced that is was the feat of St. Francis DeSales. Well, if you don't already know, I work at DeSAles University every summer.
The following Sunday the Bishop came to town for confirmations. WEll, he is from Philly, and used to cover the Allentown area (again, where I have spent the past 2 summers, and spending the upcoming one)
The other night Fr. joe (our priest) mentioned tha the would be performing services at his parish in Farmville (about 40 min away) WEll, needless to say, it is St. Elizabeth's. (It is the cutest little church, and every single person that was there tongiht for mass introduced themself to me after mass, now this could be because since I wore sandals to church, Fr. Joe picked me out to have my feet washed)
Okay, so away from church, the other sign. . .
I really admire my advisor, she is great. As with everyone, some people have more quircks than others, and she certainly has her share, but I do so admire her. WEll, her name is Patch. Short for Patricia. . . Well, if you knwo me at all you know where I am going with this. My high school theatre director, another woman full of quirks, is another PAtricia (she is a Pat) Crazy huh.
WE all know that we are doing the right thing in life, but sometimes we need signs to prove us right. WE jsut need something to tell us that this is the right thing to be doing. With school, I am sitting here droppiong lots of money. Knowing that I am doing the right thing is important. Spiritually, I have been away from the church for a number of years. I have made lots of excuses to not go. I found an excuse to go, and not only have I made some great friends, I have found something that is very important in my life.
