Of a fall made of fail and other words starting with 'f'

Oh fall. I had forgotten how cold, how windy and how gray the weather in Montreal could get come September. Where art thou, sunshine? Someone here is having some seriously early winter blues. Le sigh. Thank goodness for good food, wonderful friends and financially unreasonable decisions future trips to look forward to. I don't know how I'd cope with these dreary, bleary days otherwise. Cases in point:

* We celebrated a friend's birthday at this lovely place in Old Montreal. Decent menu (albeit mediocre tartares), okay pricing and oh yeah, OYSTERSSSSS. Yummy yummy yum. The funny thing? We were there on a Friday night and it looked barely full. Ah, the curse of the Montreal resto scene. Too many good eateries, not enough people!

* I also met up with some old (hee) high school friends yesterday. We gorged ourselves on chocolate, chocolate and even more chocolate and had a nice evening chatting and catching up. Meeting up with friends = fuzzy nostalgia-tinted feelings.

* A bunch of us at school are planning a four-day trip to Boston come our week off in October (ie. our so-called "fall break"). Four girls, one car, lots of sight-seeing and eating are planned. It will be so much fun and I cannot wait!

* I hesitate to put fall shopping on the list, because: a) I HAVE NO MORE MONEY (no, I don't know what happened to my summer earnings either!); b) I NEED TO SAVE UP FOR PARIS and c) I WILL LEARN TO STOP WASTING MONEY, DAMMIT. But despite all of my best intentions, I have no doubt that I will end spending quite a bit on clothes this season. Never mind that no one cares about what you wear to school and that I only work at the office two days per week (hence no one will ever remember what I wore three days ago), trench coats and tweed pencil skirts and oxford booties, oh I cannot resist their siren's song. (My god I'm weak.)

In other news, SHERLOCKSHERLOCKSHERLOCK is taking over the fandomny parts of my brain (I even dreamed about the London cityscape the other night, for Paolo's sake), I find myself surprisingly excited about the 3rd season of Merlin and WHY THE FUCK IS THIS FUCKER WEARING MY TEAM'S SHIRT??!!!

Oh, and someone let me know if my postcards from China have reached any destination. Thankies!

wanderlusting all over the place, gluttony is a sin?, irrepressible bouts of consumerism, fandom: merlin, +club: io sono milanista, fandom: sherlock, the weather outside is frightful, +footie: transfers and newbies
