Swim bladder issue. Either you hurt him when you were cupping him, or he's stressed. He'll be fine in a day or two.

Sounds like a swim bladder issue. Skip his next meal and keep him somewhere quiet and dimly lit if possible. If it doesn't correct keep the fast going for the next few days.
