New Who!
Finally got around to watching The Eleventh Hour and I loved it. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Still having a bit of a hard time letting go of Tennant (who I associate as MY Doctor), but despite how genuinely odd-looking I find Matt Smith, it was surprisingly easy to embrace him as the Doctor. The show as a whole just looks like it's going to be leaps above RTD's version. I'm REALLY excited about it.
Which is quite welcome, given that Torchwood is over for me. At least I can still stay a part of the connected fandoms this way, even if I shift into being more of a DW fan.
On to specifics...I think Amy is gorgeous, and actually really enjoyed the whole thing where the Doctor meets her as a child and then comes back (removing the romantic part, it sort of reminded me a bit of the Time Traveler's Wife -- what with the way she's been a bit fixated on this man who dropped into her childhood).
And OMG new Tardis! How cool looking is it? Just all of it feels so new and big and exciting. Loved the way they threw in the history of the Doctor, as well.
Can we say "yay?"
