[Player name] Ame
[Age] 19
[Personal Journal] atrocitous
[Other characters currently played] N/A

[Character name] Riku Replica
[Age] As he's a clone, he doesn't exactly have an age. But seeing as he was created after Chain of Memories Riku, he's probably physically around 15.
[Canon] Kingdom Hearts
[Point in time taken from canon] Post-death.

[Background] Right here!

[Personality]

"A faithful replica until the very end. That's... okay."

There is no replica without the original, and that's ultimately what he is: he's a clone, a fake, a copy - and he is more than aware of this. He is everything Riku was - the confident, cocky, competitive boy - and everything he could have been had Riku not accepted the fact that he had fucked up royally at the end of Kingdom Hearts 1. While Riku has guilt and regret, the Replica has none; he is instead left with the bitterness and jealousy of one that was created as a pawn, a tool to be used and eventually cast aside after the task was done. For all of the Replica's likeness to Riku, he was merely a shade of his original.

One of the biggest differences between Riku and his Replica is that while Riku feared the darkness in his heart, the Replica embraced it and wielded it to its full potential. It was something he constantly mocked Riku about during his stay in Castle Oblivion, taunting him with the fact that even though he was Riku's clone, he was better because he had no fear of the darkness and because of that, he wasn't weak. The Replica did not possess much reservations about being Riku's clone at first, saying that he would prove to be the better of the two in no time. He had the most autonomy at this point, being that he had his own memories, he was still very much his own person despite being a clone; however, when the subject of rewriting his memories to be the same as his original's was brought up, he lashed out, saying that he didn't need his original's memories. Though his efforts were unsuccessful, it's clear that the Replica had no intentions to share anything else with his original aside from his appearance and his abilities.

After having his memories rewritten, the Replica is just as stubborn as his original is and is actually a lot more aggressive. He is fiercely protective over Naminé and this does not change even towards the end of Sora's side of the game, when he comes to terms with the fact that he is truly just a copy. While Riku is more subtle with his affections to those he cares about, the Replica is very open with them and does not hide it away. It's very evident in his interactions with Naminé, as he treats her with a sort of gentle reverence and asserts that he is her protector throughout the game. This, of course, applies to feelings of contempt or frustration he has for Sora, Riku, and even other members of the Organization despite the fact that most of them are stronger than he is. His feelings were probably the most genuine part of him, even though most of them stemmed from the illusion Naminé was forced to create.

Perhaps the saddest part of the Replica was the fact that he never ceased searching for his existence until the very end. He wanted desperately to be his own person and even when he teamed up with Axel, his biggest goal in destroying Zexion was to obtain a power that would distinguish himself from and ultimately defeat Riku. It is not until the latter defeated him that he truly became more like his original, his arrogance and stubbornness mellowing into resignation and acceptance of his fate.

[Abilities]
Riku Replica obviously shares similar abilities to Riku during his stay in Castle Oblivion. The main difference is that the Replica cannot wield the Keyblade and he uses the darkness more freely in battle. His attacks are purely offensive as opposed to some of the defensive and restorative abilities Riku later gains in the second game. A list of his abilities can be found here. Note that instead of Dark Break, the Replica's version of that is Helm Split.

In battle, the Replica is clearly a skilled fighter - he's fast, nimble, and hits hard. Being modeled after Riku in his fighting style, the Replica isn't one to be underestimated in a fight and though he may look small, he has quite a bit of physical strength.

[Other important stuff]
Since he's a clone, he doesn't have a heart and though he has feelings, the concept is still pretty new to him.

[First Person]
[The following answers are answered in the driest, most deadpan tone possible unless stated otherwise.]

What do you think of your home world?
Boring.

If you could go back home, would you? Why or why not?
... If they weren't there, I might. [in a softer voice:]

I'd go back for her, if she was still there.

What were you doing before now?
Fading away.

If someone provoked or attacked you, what would you do?
Fight back? What else?

Would you consider yourself a power hungry individual?
Only to beat the Real Thing.

Someone comes to you to ask for the time. How would you respond?
Tell them it's time they got their own watch.

Someone is trying to rob you! What do you do?
Protect my stuff.

If I offered to save your soul for a price, would you go with it and why?
Well, you can save your generosity because I don't have one.

Do you stand up against authority, go against all odds, and if you could, pierce the heavens with your fighting spirit? If not, would you if you could?
What kind of question is this?

Would you consider yourself a hero or a villain? Why? Neither is an option as well, but still tell why.
Should you really be asking me this question?

You're asked to take someone out for a date. Do you agree? If so, describe what you would do. If not, tell why.
What the hell is a date?

You are on the verge of death. You know there is no way to survive and there's no coming back. Choose any of the following to answer: What is your last wish? Your last regret? Last thoughts? How do you feel? Who is the last person you think of other than your killer? (can answer more than one of these question, but it will at most count as 2 questions)
... I'm not answering this.

Murder. What is your opinion?
It's murder.

There is a cake in the rain. What do you do?
Eat it.

Do you prefer adventure or the peaceful life?
Never had a peaceful life before. Guess it'd be nice to have.

[Third Person]
Blood and breath are no use for the dead when all there's left is the fragile remains of something abandoned, something left behind.

But even he doesn't have that. He had nothing but flesh, skin, and bone - the fleeting memories that once belonged to him and yet did not - the empty cavity in his sternum. He was a mass of black smoke upon fading, and the last thing he remembered (ha, such a fickle thing, memory) was the weirdly sympathetic gaze of the Real Thing looking down on him as he melted away. He had asked where he would go and Riku told him 'the same place as mine'.

As he walked down the path, he wondered if what Riku said was really true, paying no mind to the rain that dampened his clothes and hair. It felt cool and soothing against his skin, something he had never experienced before back at Castle Oblivion. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do in the new world - there were no Organization members to order him around, no princess for him to protect, no Real Thing to fight against and prove his worth; he felt lost for the first time since his creation. He wasn't sure which he preferred more: absolute freedom, or not having something for him to work towards.

But he pushed those thoughts aside, just because he was alone now didn't mean anything. He'd find his way around somehow, maybe he could even find a way to leave; he had all the time in the world now. Glancing around, he noticed the old shack to his right, looking like the one from Riku's memories of Destiny Islands. He felt a distinct nostalgia that was paired with the memory, something that came unbidden and made him clench his fists. It was moments like these that he never liked - seeing memories that he knew no longer belonged to him, feeling things that weren't his own. He looked away from the shack then and continued forward into the rain, never looking back.

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?]
I think it'd be interesting to play the Replica in this setting, and I think it'd be pretty awesome to see how he'd grow in this situation. There's lots of people for him to meet and equally as much things for him to learn and discover.

[Which rule was your favorite and why?]
I enjoyed the "be nice to other players" rule! I think it's something people tend to overlook in a game, and I'm really glad you guys stress that here.

[Where did you hear about Somarium?] (Optional)
From your Riku-mun!

[Any questions?]
Just one, actually. After he gets settled in, I think he'll probably end up making up his own name so people don't keep calling him "fake" or "Riku #2". Would that fly with you guys?
