This is slightly brought on because of shopping trip with ZEX, but not entirely! I just mostly needed to get some... head canon-y (canon-y?) stuff down, so yes. Not that I really need an excuse to ramble about Percival.
Note: I'm nothing close to a Suiko expert, so if anyone (hi Laguna hi) spots something that HAS been put down in canon and I got it wrong... Please let me know. :|b Also, if anyone could point me toward a complete set of the manga, I'd appreciate it, as I've only read volumes one through seven as well nine.;; Preferably in English, but hey, I'll take raws for icons, too.
Dress and Appearance
I'm under the belief that no one really knows what Percival is wandering around camp in. To be honest, I don't really know myself! His icons show him in a total of four different outfits at the moment: armor, two more casual sets, and one dress ensemble. This has... led to some "nice armor!" or "nice cravat!" comments, and... yes. It's kind of confusing when his appearances continue to switch between one comment to the next because of his icons.
In the game, he spends the entire time in his armor, which... doesn't seem quite logical to me. Armor is heavy, difficult to move in, and a pain to take care of. I'm not sure why he wants to be doing everything in it, but well, I assume the developers just didn't want to create different outfits for all fifty million characters in the game. In the manga, he does still spend a large amount of time in his armor, but he does occasionally show up in normal clothes!
So... I'm going to say that prior to this shopping trip with ZEX, Percival spent... equal time walking around in his armor and regular attire. If you comment on his dress, he'll be wearing whatever you mention for the rest of that thread. Of course, if we're talking about his normal clothing, feel free to assume that he does have more than just three outfits. Even so, it will still have a rather ornate touch to it, as that's just the dress of his homeland.
Now that he has gone shopping for more modern clothes, though, I'll be adding a third style of clothing to his line-up. Admittedly, I don't know if I'll ever have icons for this, but hey, that's okay. These clothes will most likely be fairly fashionable modern day... stuff that you'd find in a magazine on models! Well-dressed people! Yes.
On that note, I should find out if Byakuran ever got around to giving Percy a set of the Millefiore uniform. :|a
In any case! I'm hoping to, at least in my head, mark this as a point where Percival starts wearing his armor less (because seriously, he has little reason to wear it at camp) and going about in his own normal clothing more as well as this modern day stuff. All the same, I'll probably continue to just go with the flow in regards to people commenting on his outfits. He will also have his sword with him in most cases, but I'm not entirely sure if he'd carry it around in modern attire.
Also of note is that he'll be wearing the karma ring that Cielo gave him once... uh. Well, the gift exchange has already happened OOCly, but I'll probably wait until Christmas or something for it to become an IC thing? :|a But yeah, a karma ring with pretty stones! I imagine him wearing it on his right hand.
As for his hair, Percival's hair will remain gravity-defying. I'd love to see a picture of his hair not... swept back though. Like... bed hair, all tousled and stuff. |D I mean. A-anyway, moving on now.;;
Habits and Body Language
Just by playing the game, you'd think that Percival did nothing but keep his hands by his sides for the most part. However, in the manga (and... in my head), I actually think that Percival is relatively animated in terms of body language. This isn't to say that he's constantly making grand gestures with his hands and arms, but he does move when he talks.
In general, I think Percy has a fairly laid back sort of posture. Yeah, okay, he can be seem pretty rigid when he's standing in his armor, but when he's not, he does seem to have a sort of easy grace about him. He's relaxed and comfortable with himself, so Percival's not going to really come across as stiff, nervous, or agitated unless there's some good cause for him to be that way.
As for particulars in body movement, I guess he does have a tendency to lean against things when they're present. Also, Percy does seem to cross his arms a great deal. This may or may not be coupled with the leaning.
Daily Routine
I imagine that Percival gets up fairly early in the morning and goes out to practice his swordsmanship in some quiet part of camp. (Does anyone need a sparring partner? :|a ) After that, he'll come back, clean his armor/sword, shower (fascinating, the way the water works here), eat breakfast, and then... head off to wander about camp. What he does during the day is fairly open, but I imagine that he spends part of the time bothering Byakuran, a bit of time in library, and ends up talking to random people he runs into around camp. I don't see him as the type to skip meals, so he'll probably head to the mess hall or make something for himself when lunch/dinner rolls around. I imagine that he spends his time in the evenings reading.
...If there are horses in camp, I guess I should mention that he'd totally go for a ride every day. But I think we only have chocobos? >_>;
Head Canon
+ Percy's favorite color is red.
+ He can cook! I'm not talking fancy stuff, but he can cook some pretty damn good down-to-earth stuff. You know, hearty, filling... stuff that... you might eat in a more rural location like Iksay? :|a I don't know why, but I associate pies of all types with Percy.;;
+ He has a fondness for theater. I realize that it's stated in the game that he's a good actor, but I'd like to go a step further and say that he enjoys it in all aspects.
+ Percival likes reading about theater, history, and the military. I can also see him enjoying classics from this world, and I think he'd be amused by fantasy books, seeing as they sort of reflect the world he comes from. I will also admit that I can see him enjoying romance to a certain degree.
+ Percy thinks space is cool, ever since his fake biography mentioned him being a space pirate.;; I don't think he really understands the science necessary to head into outer space, but oh well. Please to be sending space odysseys his way.
+ He smells like metal, open fields, the wind, and a touch of blood. Percy probably tastes like wine. :|a (This is totally important, really.)
+ Percy's good with plants and animals. Farming background yay!
+ Percival is... going to be very slow to adapt to everything electronic in this world. I'm hoping to get more people to teach him about this sort of thing, but even so, he'll be slow to pick it up, as it's all so foreign to him. And well, he doesn't seem the type to loaf about in front of a TV anyway, so I'm not sure how much use he'll put to any of them by himself.
