2 weeks sounds like a long time but the fact that he's drinking liquids makes me feel better about it. What kinds of liquids? Did the doc say if he should have gatorade or something like that? I'm assuming gatorade is okay for a toddler but I don't know. Or maybe pedialite or whatever? If it is, that'd be good because he'll need the electrolytes. Will he drink juice? If so, a good 100% juice would be good because at least he's getting some nutrients from that.
What about PediaSure? http://pediasure.com/ There is a store locater on the top right, and it looks like they are sold pretty much everywhere.
Also, I've heard that fruit juice can make diarrhea worse. You might want to try replacing the juice with something else, but I know it's tough since it's one of the only things he'll accept.
You could try V8 drinks for the vitamins, or maybe even put liquid multi-vitamin drops into his tea.
I did some googling and found some cases of kids (and adults) refusing to eat with strep. I think it just hurts too much on his little throat. =/
He did seem in really good spirits when you guys were here the other night! =)
Also, you did not wreck my house! No need to apologize silly goose.
yeah, the laundry list of drinks i give him include: pediasure pedilite v8 slash v8 fusion (veggie and fruit) all kinds of caffeine free teas various types of fruit juices milk
ive tried to blend different foods mixed with fruits to cover any certain taste but he doesnt seem to like any of my concoctions
and yea! he is always in good spirits!all this and you wouldnt even guess he was sick by hanging out with him! can you imagine how much more of a wreck id be if my man had no pep in his step!? i guess there is something to be said about that..
