*applause* Really, I don't know if there is anything better than this world you have created for these characters. I worried for Penny here, how Sheldon was going to come back from wherever he was, if they were going to stay sane and keep it all going, and...well, the ending was perfect.
It is exciting to have a new chapter of their story. Thank you for making it so :)
(Please ignore how depressingly late this reply is!)
Bandverse continues to both be my favorite thing and also a source of constant astonishment that there are other people following us into this wacky world where the characters are in a band. Thanks for taking the time to read the story, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
First off, I really enjoyed getting to be a part of this; making the mix was a lot of fun.
I love the song titles you ended up coming up with; it's a weird thing, I know, but it stood out for me, maybe because that was something I was curious about from the beginning, what song titles go with a band called Jupiter Logic.
The story is just... gah. I am a happy little angstmuffin right now, because you balanced the angst with wry humour with the happy ending, and this makes me gleeful. I love your Penny, especially her exchanges with Bernadette. I love Raj and Penny's friendship to pieces. I wanted to smack the living crap out of Sheldon for his below the belt comments, but then I loved him again when he came to the open mic.
(Please insert a long apology for how late this reply is, omg)
(a) THANK YOU FOR BEING SO PATIENT WITH ME AS I BLEW PAST EVERY DEADLINE EVER INVENTED and for your mix and your constant words of support. You are awesome in every way.
(b) Thank for reading, and for commenting, and not laughing at my rough drafts when all I had was "LA LA LA LOOK I CAN WRITE WORDS IN ENGLISH."
I actually have your rough draft for this to thank for my rough draft for Saturnalia, because I was flipping out that I had this chunk missing (GDocs ate it) and then I remembered your draft and went okay, I'm going to shove this explanation in here in brackets and submit than and do the rest later. So yeah, knowing I could do that took a big weight off my shoulders.
I am still so chuffed to be a part of this 'verse in a way. It is terribly fun and angsty and I love it.
I continue to be astonished at the way you manage to make the characters fit into this world while maintaining the habits and personality quirks that make them them. Not only was I marveling at your knowledge of music and the process of recording an album, but also how you tied everything in with all of the nuances in their relationships and a great overall story.
I love this fic as a whole, but I also love all of the random bits that kept popping up and making me laugh. Opening for Ashley Parker Angel, the Fortress of Being a Giant Cunt, Howard's Fleetwood Mac line, The Nanny, Penny and Bernadette's whole conversation about sex in the bunk and Sendhil Ramamurthy, Tim Gunn, Leonard and the sports teams, the Glee banter at open mic night...there's so much awesome stuff crammed into this thing that I can't even list it all.
Never have I loved an imaginary band so much. If they were real, I would totally buy their album off of iTunes rather than illegally download it.
Aw, bless. I just want to print this comment out and put it on my wall.
In other news, I think we have at least one more thing planned (at least, you know, for the foreseeable future) that we're going to cowrite... in the alternate universe where we have boatloads of free time, but you know. THERE ARE OUTLINES.
THANK YOU. (And wow, I am so, so sorry I am bad at replying to things in a timely fashion.)
UGHHHHHHHHHH. Sometimes I'll be in the middle of a paragraph and I'll forget that this isn't real. Like, I'll know it's just a story, sure. But I'll forget that it's not about a real band and then I get all depressed and eat an ice cream cone and frown a lot. BECAUSE COME ON. I WOULD SO BE ON THEIR MAILING LIST AND OWN ALL THEIR CDS AND PUT THEM ON MIXES AND HAVE PHONE ALERTS FOR WHENEVER THEY WERE ON THE EAST COAST. IT KILLS ME.
But this is so great and I want you two to take turns writing more about these people until the end of time so I can just keep having momentary lapses in sanity and live in bliss believing they're real. AAAAAAAAACK, the Tim Gunn and Bernadette and everything involving the Nanny and I CAN'T. They're perfect and amazing and it will never fail to amaze me how perfectly they blend into these roles because it's like I forget that the show isn't about musicians turned scientists sometimes, it's that convincing. I hate you.
(We have one more thing planned. Well, there might be a series finale of some sort too, but that's not on the table yet. So. There's more to come in the who-only-knows-when future.)
(Let's pretend this comment isn't three months late either too, hm?)
