Poor Howard. His skills with fixing toilets are apparently as good in Victorian times as they are for the space shuttle.

Thanks so much for the comment!

as if Sheldon called anyone by their Christian name

I THINK THIS MADE ME LAUGH HARDEST, IN THE BEST WAYS. Oh, delicious, marvelous AU crack. And I'm ruined for Meemaw now, no matter who they could ever get to play the canon version, Maggie Smith will always be her in my brain.

God, I love Penny in every form. And she was just so delightful and impetuous and kick ass in this.

And when I reread it on Ao3 the joke of Leonard as his driver hit me, finally. THE SLOW BURN OF IT. I cackled. Genuinely cackled.

I adore you and this is the BEST pick me up I could ever imagine, today. NEVER STOP BEING AMAZING.

Leonard as his driver basically made me laugh because I was like, MAN, I REALLY DON'T LIKE DRIVERS. Him and Branson get their own special category now.

I'm glad that this helped your day be less shitty :)

Incredibly lovely! And the inclusion of Clausius made me giggle; especially considering that with Penny around, in this universe Sheldon might be the one to introduce entropy, as opposed to Clausius. Penny is sometimes the living embodiment of the principles of entropy.

And I agree; every fandom needs a Victorian arranged marriage AU. Especially ones evocative of The Great Austen or The Immortal Bard (I'm contractually obligated by my university to refer to them as this. No, really).

Let me tell you about the frantic googling of physicists that would have been alive and relevant in 1851. So I'm super pumped that worked for you!

Thanks so much for reading and for the comment!

(Does your university contractually oblige you to even capitalize The Great Austen & The Immortal Bard? They are SO hardcore.)

Seriously, how did people even write without Google? It's a blurry recollection of something called a library, but for the life of me, I can't remember what research actually is!

You're welcome.

(Yes. They're serious about literature that way. Makes it a bit difficult to talk about The Great Austen and The Immortal Bard - you have to take real good care so everyone can hear the capital letters.)

As a student of history who delights in pointing out historical inaccuracies, I have to say that yours was pretty damn good. And what's even more, I forgot about history when I was reading it and very much enjoyed the characters (Sheldon and Penny, yet so darn Victorian.) Bravo! Now I wish this were a series.

I honestly think I spent more time researching than I did writing, but I think it was mostly because I did a lot of it on JSTOR and I just really missed JSTOR? But I'll just put it this way, there was a draft of this in which Leonard drove a car. SO. Fortunately that one was caught relatively early, but still.

(Kind of sort of tempted to write the wedding, ngl. It would just be so batshit.)

Thank you so much for the wonderful comment ♥
