Your portrayal of the psychological development of anorexia is painfully accurate, inevitable even as it's poetic. I can suspend disbelief re. the eating disorder: it's not too much of a stretch to believe that a woman who's been in some way defined by her beauty all her life would do anything to retain it. It's beautiful and it's tragic.

But: what I don't believe is that House, with his preternaturally acute eye for detail, when he sees her every day, wouldn't notice. That Chase, when he sees her naked and should apparently be able to count her ribs and vertebrae (among most of the rest of her bones), wouldn't notice. Why didn't they?

Thank you very much for the kind words - and for the crit, I tend to run with folks who are more about the "OMG SQUEE" than the "let's sit down & talk about this." So I really appreciate that. :)

I think my thought process went something like, "well, we don't KNOW how much weight she's really losing"; the only amount I specified was about twenty, and from there on I was deliberately vague about numbers. Although in retrospect, I failed to take into account the fact that she's kinda skinny already and a 20-lb loss in itself would be noticeable. Again, thanks for the crit; I'll need to watch the realism a bit closer next time.

I just. The characterization was amazing and while I felt not a single drop of sympathy for Cameron. I felt horrible for Chase.

And the way you set up the fic was perfect.
