History: The son of Erik Magnus Lehnsherr, also known as Magneto, Pietro and his twin sister Wanda lived a relatively sheltered life, always made aware of the fact that they were different by their father, although he gave them no clue as to what form the mutant gene would take. Although Pietro began showing early signs of his powers when he was three years old, his true power did not manifest until much later, unfortunately the same could not be said for his sister who developed near uncontrollable powers just after her eighth birthday. Although the pair remained close, Magneto became increasingly wary of his daughter’s powers and eventually took her and Pietro (who was beginning to get in the way due to his hyper, curious personality) away from the family home just after their ninth birthday, abandoning Wanda in a mental asylum.
Although Pietro remained with his father for several years, their relationship was a turbulant one at best and he normally found himself sidelined in favour of his father’s plans despite. He went to extreme lengths to make his father proud of him, but instead of receiving the attention he wanted, he received things and soon demanded them, deeming things to be the only sign of affection Magneto would give him, he soon began to resent him and when he was finally palmed off on a foster family, he kept to himself.
As he got older, his powers started to develop more noticably, time began to run slower from his perspective whilst his appetite increased and he began to speak faster than normal. This made him feel more isolated from his foster family and he began to get incredibly frustrated at how slow everyone around him was.
Pietro finally found an outlet for his pent up frustration when he was fourteen by joining the school basketball team, although in turn this unleashed a competitive streak and he started using his powers more liberally to win and get his way. It was during this time when he met Evan Daniels, an athletic skater who was also on the basketball team. A rivalry soon developed between the two with Pietro often becoming frustrated that he was forced to hold back his powers which by this time were enabling him to move faster than what the naked eye could see.
On his sixteenth birthday, Pietro left the foster home and took to stealing in order to pay for rent at a small apartment complex, enjoying the brief thrill it gave him. His rivalry with Evan Daniels continued and intensified once he discovered that Evan was a mutant during a late night locker heist and after successfully framing him for his crime, he took off with his spoils. However when it was announced that a last-minute basketball game would be held at the school, Pietro couldn’t resist rubbing Evan the wrong way and even admitted to the repeated break ins at the school.
Unfortunately, his plan to throw Evan off his game and ravage the city was foiled when several members of the X-Men stopped him and it was revealed to him that his voice had been recorded. He was arrested and sent to jail, only to be liberated by his father Magneto, though he has not seen him since.
Personality: Possessing the ability to move and think at great speeds, he perceives the world around him to be moving in slow motion, something that contributes to his impatient and often arrogant temper although the personality defects were present long before his powers developed due to being spoilt. A schemer, he is usually thinks of ideas but at the same time he also takes it too far out of greed, arrogance or his overwhelming thrill-seeking tendencies.
Pietro is a shameless flirt and is well-known for having multiple girlfriends at once but unlike the common scenario, he is actually capable of keeping up with the demands that all of them have (although he doesn’t always keep them a secret from each other), unfortunately due to how he perceives time, he gets bored very quickly and tends not to have long-lasting relationships. Other than chatting up girls, he rarely interacts with anyone other than his friends at the Brotherhood, deeming them not to be worth his valuable time.
Pietro is highly competitive and considers himself to be the best at everything that he does. He despises losing above all else and has a long-term rivalry with Evan Daniels who plays on the same school basketball team, although he frequently sabotaged Evan’s attempts in order to make himself look good and resents acting ‘normal’ around non-mutants when he could easily run circles around them, however he was removed from the basketball team after being arrested for a number of robberies that had taken place at the school and eventually transferred to another school.
Due to his powers, Pietro has a habit of unconsciously speaking rather fast and he is quite patronising of the others if they do not catch something he said the first time. His general hyper behaviour often irritates the Brotherhood whilst his vanity causes both amusement and frustration.
Powers/Skills: As a mutant, Pietro is gifted with the power of super speed. Due to his powers he perceives the world around him as moving significantly slower than the normal rate which he often finds intolerable and he metabolizes roughly 95% of the caloric energy he consumes. His reaction speed has increased to become around five times faster than an ordinary human or mutant and the speed in which his brain processes information was heightened as well. Aside from running fast, he is also capable of creating cyclones of wind capable of knocking someone off their feet by racing around in a circle.
Anything extra: Pietro calls himself Quicksilver when he is in costume (which he made in under four seconds) and is a junior in high school, although his impatience often prevents him from getting good grades.
In Canon: The son of Magneto and leader (though that is rather questionable) of the brotherhood, Pietro Maximoff, also known as Quicksilver when he is in costume is a junior at school and has a long-standing rivalry with X-Man Evan Daniels. He is a self-proclaimed speed demon and is capable of travelling at speeds well above 100mph, something he frequently reminds others around him of.
