Well, you attributed me, so that's alright. I guess I feel that what I put in Google Reader notes doesn't merit as much craft or attention as something posted more publicly. In fact, with the tiny window that you're writing in, it's more or less impossible to go back and edit it, notice confusing points that could be elaborated or dropped, decide that it's too long or too short, re-cast what it is you're trying to say...
It should be a fully featured blogging tool, and I keep forgetting to send the Reader team an email explaining that. We should both do it, so it will become clear to them.
I couldn't help taking it and posting it here. I plan to make an edit later with my own commentary, but I was tired and hurried at the time I grabbed it, so I haven't done that yet.
Also, I totally agree. Every time they add a new feature that is useful (like sharing anything with comments) they leave out some other immediately vital component that I want. Think "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie" I suppose. No gratitude on my part, just criticism. "Why can't I make replying comments to the comments that other people put on the posted items?" "Why can't I edit my comments, so I don't have to delete the shared item and then re-post it with the edit?" On the one hand, it's awesome that they put the new features in, but surely, they could have taken the next step in thought and known what other features users would start looking for.
