Got another offer from my current employer for the manager job in San Diego. The current offer was offered with much more serious intent than the last offer. I've tentatively accepted. I can imagine that moving somewhere where you don't know too many people and are with substantially fewer contacts might be a bit daunting. However, this does sound like a pretty awesome opportunity for you. I mean, it totally gives you an excuse to move back to the west coast and start a new life and whatnot. So yeah, I second what everyone else has said and look forward to hearing what life is like for you in San Diego.

Hey, sounds like an awesome opportunity! And having done just what you are contemplating doing I can recommend the following strategy: Feel the fear and do it anyway (not my original saying). You do have family around San Pedro...and your mother as a fallback in far northern California. This is definitely the time in your life to take some risks and move toward your goals since you only have yourself to worry about. Congratulations!
