Today I learned that my birthday is indeed the same as my paternal grandmother's. (Apparently) due to the fact that she was born out of wedlock her birthday was celebrated on a later date. my birthday was only 2 days before my great-grandma's. when she was alive, she was always saying how all through my mom's pregnancy she was keeping her fingers crossed i'd be born on her borthday.

I've only seen one picture of her (she died in 1966 so I never met her). I didn't see much resemblance but I think she was in her 30's in the picture and it looked like she was wearing some kind of uniform.
My dad won't talk about her (neither would my grandpa when he was alive), so any information on her is difficult to come by. Aside from what I've mentioned I know she was British, a war bride, her name was Jean, and she died on Christmas day.

there'd probably he some sort of wartime record on her if she was in the service
here in australia you can get a persons service serial no. online if you have their name and DOB and then apply for a copy of their full service record through the post
