that quote is fantastic and so true. as i've gotten older, i feel as if it's okay for me to be talented but not smart. when the subject of grades comes up, i've always cowered in the corner: "please don't reveal that you're smart!" i never talk about the scholarships i got for my undergrad education or such things because i'm afraid it will make other people feel shitty. it will take a while to really feel like Mandela is right, that talking of such things (with appropriate humility, not boastfulness) will encourage others to do the same and hopefully up-level our society. it sure is something to think about -- thanks! :)
