Enjoy the yum cha and the museum - I'm going to have to go to see the National Treasures and the Egypt collection myself, before they disappear.
You're probably right about waiting until after you get back from the trip before buying a kitten (probably less of a problem with a more placid adult cat, but I'd still recommend waiting).
The Morley Vetcentre often has kittens and cats for sale: all you pay is the cost of the sterilization and vaccinations, and those are discounted by 33%, and IIRC you get other free stuff too. We've had a few from there, and they've been adorable.
I have my schedule for second semester now, thesis is finished, and we're settled in the new house: hope we can catch up sometime!
hallo stephen! =) great to hear from you! thanks very much for the birthday ecard too, typically thoughtful! i've been reading about your thesis progress and completion, congratulations! you must be most excited to have finally reached this point. i'd love to catch up with you soon - i noted you've got a lunch break in your schedule... i can't think of a better way to break up the working day. thanks for the info about the cats also. cat people need to stick together, though i have to admit, i never thought i'd be one. hehe =)
