I didnt have a hard time looking for Yosh since i am very much familiar with the place;P i approached the counter and introduced myself to the cashier. Since there were deliveries coming, ms. Sarah, the assistant restaurant manager (arm) instructed me to sit and wait for a while.. which took me about an hour and a half! hehe:)) ms. Sarah told me later on that they weren't informed on the exact date we'll be starting and she knew that we'll be coming in groups, which wasn't the case. (MA'AM?:S)
at around 1130, ate jona, one of the senior cashiers, oriented me with customer service, which were already familiar to me since we discussed it in class. After that, ate jona let me share her locker, which was beside the kitchen, and instructed me to wear the proper attire. the proper attire INCLUDED MAKE-UP and a pair of simple stud earrings.(ZOMG! im allergic to make-up!) I was at fault since i wore black chucks to work (i dont have balck shoes, IM SORRY MAM! ) so after my shift, i immediately bought a pair (hello, shopping!)
ate jona introduced me to the other crew members, whose names i have already forgotten! (hahaha:D i will try to remember all by 1 week!) she also showed me the dry storage room where they keep all the ice tea packs and whathaveyou's. I was also able to enter their walk in refrigerator (OMG! i wish i could stay there till summer ends).
1st order of work: GREEN, RED and APPLE ICE TEA prep.
ate jona showed me how to prepare the three flavors of iced tea with the proper proportions. it contains 6.5 liters of water, and a kilo of the (premixed) powder. I had to mix it in a stock pot and then transfer it to the dispenser. It was quite challenging because the dispenser is taller than me, and so i have to lift the whole bucket above my head HAHAHA:)) but i was able to manage, my body frame's an advantage pala, hehe:))
After that, i was taught how to "back-up" (meaning: fill each cup) for iced tea with the proper measurements for each cup. I was able to fill about 10 orders, hehe:))
2nd order of work: MISO and NORI soup dispensing
Yosh has this dispenser for NORI and MISO soups, an automatic machine with calibrated amounts of dispensing nori powder and hot water. there are a lot of buttons but i hope i can remember all:)
Ate jona also taught me how to calibrate the machine, and i found out that it is calibrated for about 4 times a day.
3rd order of work: LEMON slicing (for green iced tea)
probably this is the most unchallenging part, however, its important for the store's function. I had to slice about 10 pcs of lemons, each with a calculated number of slices per piece (about 22 per piece). I remember our quiche lorraine making, wherein my group had to cut slices of tomatoes! alas, it wasnt put to waste, hehehe:))
I was able to log-out at 2:07 pm on the bundy clock, and promised the higher-ups that i will wear make-up and the proper shoes tomorrow)
