Matt had stayed up pretty late again last night, working-out plans for how exactly he could see about stowing away or making it to wherever his self-proclaimed sorta-twin-sister was being held. It had been about 4, maybe 5am when he'd gotten absolutely sick of thinking about parallel dimensions and portals and the space-time continuum and just collapsed into his bed. Now, it was definitely afternoon time and Matt was still asleep, draped lazily beneath wads of covers and pillows that overtook and consumed his head, protecting him from the afternoon sunlight pouring in through his bedroom window.

But not from the noise of Resident Evil being turned-on in his living room. He frowned vaguely in his sleep, at first only integrating the telltale sounds into his dream and coming up with some very strange imagery... but then abruptly sitting-up, his pillows and bedsheets falling off of his head and slapping against the clock, a pile of CDs and some soda cans on his nightstand, making a terrible racket.

Matt had never had room mates. ( ... )

Matt wasn't thinking that the noise of the playstation and how it might affect whoever could possibly be in this apartment. But anyway, it was the middle of the day right? Whoever lived here would have been out or have noticed her by now and left her to it. Or if she went with previous theories this was her dream or nice perfect world and all of this was here for her anyway ( ... )

It definitely took the girl turning around and speaking for Matt to realize that this was not some perverse space-time warp situation and he was speaking to a separate, flesh-and-blood human being right now. Not only that, but someone that he recognized beyond being a female approximation of himself-

"...You're my- well, you're..." Matt stepped out from behind the wall, well aware now that he was safe, and walked past the small kitchen and into the living room, staring down at the other -female- him with disbelief and a growing, goofy smile at what a weirdly nice surprise this was. "Did you actually end up using a box to get here??"

The reference to boxes was all she needed to click that this wasn't just some random male version of herself, she had enough mind to press the pause button before Leon got mauled and leaned back on her hand, tilting her head back sharply to look at him.

"Nope, I just... woke up on the couch." She said said, looking mildly puzzled as she said it. Maybe the Consulo had just had a weird malfunction and kicked her here, it didn't make any sense, but she wasn't going to question it. Her own smile grew wider, she never thought she'd actually get to meet her adopted sorta-twin brother for real. "No idea how I managed it."

Matt reached up and tugged on his jeans, wanting him more down at her level so her neck wasn't protesting the cruel angle it was at to look at him.

Mello was not pleased to awaken in a park that morning. Not pleased - at all. She was even more displeased to find herself having woken up in clothing she hadn't worn in a very long time: her red coat, a skirt that laced up in the front, stockings, combat boots, gloves, and a black tank top. She was glad she still had her rosary and Matt's goggles around her neck and was pleasantly surprised to find her sunglasses in the pocket of her coat.

The first thing she'd done had been to check a newspaper. After randomly appearing in an apartment and staying there with inter-dimensional internet and then staying with a version of the brat (that, dammit, she was worrying about too when she knew he was all right - Kira was gone in his World), she needed to be sure she was in her World or not. When she found no mention of Kira in it, she found an internet cafe and did her research ( ... )

"Yeah, worked his way up through the mafia so he could go after Kira using their resources." She couldn't believe how flashy Mello had been with those when he told her, a rocket of all things... she did kind of wish she'd gotten to see that though, it must have been pretty damn cool. Especially since, in a very Mello-like fashion, he'd gotten away with it, at least for a little while. Until the whole mess of events which ended with him blowing himself up. "Erald Coil..." her lips twitched at that, "So he's working against Near legitimately? Fancy that ( ... )

Matt paused and turned his head towards his front door, frowning slightly at the manic knocking on his door.

"No, not that I know of anyway... You didn't happen to be followed by anybody, did'ja?" Matt glanced back towards his twin, raising his brows slightly in inquiry. She was shifting into a bit of a more modest ball against his couch and he'd had one or two girlfriends who'd done that kind of thing before when unexpected company arrived, so he gathered pretty quickly that she might not be thrilled with being seen in less-than-full dress by strangers.

"If you want, you can borrow some pants or something... I'm sure they'll be huge on you, but better than nothing right?" With that Matt shifted and got to his feet smoothly, patting-down his jeans and walking towards the door. He wondered if maybe he should be armed with a brush, or his actual gun or something like that ( ... )

For a second, her breath caught in her throat and if she was any less of a woman, she probably would have flung her arms around him, buried her face in his chest, and cry. But she wasn't that kind of woman and, besides, it would be rather insulting to both this Matt, who wasn't her dork, and hers, who had died for her. Mello didn't think she'd be affected this badly, but she shoved those emotions down and actually looked at him, a devious smirk coming to her face as she did so ( ... )
