If my dad held the same position in his company as my mom did in hers, we'd be doing a lot better off, financially.

Yeah actually my Dad and Mom have the same job and get paid the same amount however my Mom has a masters degree in math and my Dad only has a bachelor's degree. I donno I feel like my mom should get paid more or a better job anyway.

rent em "Crash" and see how they react. I suppose things are relatively better in terms of sexism and racism than, say, 20 years ago... but that certainly doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Racism, at least, is usually going to express itself more prominently in lower income areas where people aren't necessarily well off and people are rubbing shoulders with other ethnicities and groups.

Ya know... this reminds me of something. My sister hate, HATES, going to a lot of smaller grocery stores and passing by, say, the meat markets and whatnot. Usually, these sections hire a lot of spanish-speaking folk, and they would watch and whistle at her cause she is quite pretty, and this makes her extremely uncomfortable. It might also make her a little bit biased towards the group, since I recall her being a bit frustrated and venting how "those Mexicans" kept staring at her.
