I'm so done

It's 2:45. I can't sleep. Yes I watched the election and all, that didn't keep me up. (BTW-woot woot). I missed the speech though when I was trying to sleep ( Read more... )

First, FUCK THAT! That's crazy and horrible-- no wonder ed. admin. programs have such a horrible reputation in Colleges of Ed... What about other teachers-- do you get support from them? Can you all get together and bitch about the administration? Wouldn't change anything, but at least make you feel better...

DEFINITELY get the union on your side, right away. Ohio is such a union state-- those folks should have your back, right? They can go above this asshole and hopefully get her reprimanded... UNIONS! Use 'em!

...at least after last night there's less of a chance of drastic cuts to public education...

yes, the other teachers are wonderful. They totally are in the same boat, feel the same way and still have time to support me. Most of us have at least one foot out the door. The 6th grade team got together and wrote an email to the administration about a lot of the same things I am writing about. Like Matt said to me, they are a team and, therefore more of a threat than me. The admin. can take me on because I am one, it's easier to put it on me, I'm the scapegoat. We also have an awesome union. I have talked with union reps about the problem, had them help me with wording on emails. If I get cornered again I will have it in my mind already to say that I'm not ready to talk until I have a union rep. Our last ED teacher (which I seem to be becoming, in a way) was ill prepared for the job (as am I) and she ended up leaving on medical pay. Rumor is she is still, two years later, receiving that pay and not working...I should call her and get her doctors name! She got a lot of union support as far as I know. It's hard for me to say exactly ( ... )

Well this is all really good to hear-- I mean, it's not like you have lots of time to put into this. I totally understand just wanting to be done with it when school gets out... Seems like it'd be worth it to follow through, since NO ONE seems to like these people...

I do...I have you people, my family, the people that I work with...I know what you mean though and I will try. I'm just so worried about doing it wrong and ending up looking like a fool and losing my job or something. Not that I want my job, but I certainly don't want to lose it, I want to run away from it! But, jobs are so precious these days...catch 22 or something.

I understand. I just feel so helpless for you. I want someone to overthrow your evil boss.

My computer has been out of order since Wed, so I just got to read this.

Man, that sucks, I am so sorry your school is making you out to be a bad guy or making you feel like you aren't doing enough. It's so obvious you care about the students. These people should spend a day in your classroom and see what it's like.

Yeah, that's gonna happen...NOT! Part of our little 'meeting' was that the vice principal would come in with her 'ED cap on' and see what she could come up with behavior management wise for my classroom. She was supposed to come in last Friday in the morning. At the end of the day on Friday, like 20 min. before the end of the day, she told me she probably wasn't going to get down there. I haven't seen her within reach of my classroom door since.
