I'm presently trying to learn how to play follow you down by Gin Blossoms; it's pretty much chords except for the lead bits. The lead bits don't really look that difficult. I might even be able to pull the solo out of my ass if I'm lucky. If I can manage that, I may feel like some sort of small god ( Read more... )

Follow You Down is actually deceptively simple. The solo is a pattern that you play once at a low pitch and then virtually transpose up high on the neck. The only particularly tough part is switching from chords to single notes in the chorus.

Don't knock Matthew Sweet. Matthew Sweet is the last (i.e. most recent) famous musician who's just plain fugly. Nowadays you have to be hot to rock. ...said the trashy entertainment magazine writer.
