I loved this. It's beautifully written, and conveys their developing friendship beautifully.

I love the fact that he eventually gives up correcting her when she calls him "Professor"...

And it's interesting that he doesn't notice her growing up until she's all grown up.

I got the sense with Seven that he had been so focused on making Ace what he wanted her to be that he didn't realise that she was growing outside of that too, hence the line(s) about changes that he didn't see coming.

Oh, that's just gorgeous. I wish I could be more precise, but it all works -- their voices, their confusion and sudden understanding, even the TARDIS dropping hints for the Doctor. You must write them more, please.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I do want to write more of them - I've started a set of drabbles about them and I've got an idea for another fic (a scene that didn't quite fit into this one) - so hopefully you'll see more Seven/Ace from me in the not-too-distant future.

I've been working my way through Seven's serials as well. He was my favourite Doctor after just one serial (The Curse of Fenric), and every new one I see just makes me love him more.
