Man, if you think it's cold here, try Minnesota!

There is not a chance of me setting foot there if it is colder than this place here. Gah! It is barely fit for human habitation!

But very pretty.

A suggestion, until your winter gear makes it up here:

If you can afford it, get yourself some socks - the regular old white kind you can get at most stores, and some knit caps. Keeping your feet and head as warm as you can will help stave off the chill.

All right, I have to ask, what is kób? It's fascinated me and I kept saying it to myself over and over while I was at dinner.

Ahaaa, we have here a lover of words? It is cash; money. Funds available for the buying of a coat in which a poor, suffering creole boy can survive this frigid weather.

The source of the word I do not know; it's as mistik to me as it is to you, zanmi.

Remember though that my lovely creole, she comes not just from French, but from Spanish and some native words, and from the men and women of Haiti. God, for example. It's not so often le Dieu of the parisien; my maman and her ilk, they say lwa.

For reason, I know.

I do not have a coat that would fit you, but I do have a credit card and you owe me coffee lessons, so...

The cold weather just means you have to be creative in ways to stay warm.
