Gods, I so feel that sometimes too. ^^ It's not stupid to laugh though, it's a hell of alot better than crying. Crying gets nowhere, takes more energy, and still leaves you feeling like crap. At least laughing will make you feel a bit better in the end.

And if nothing else, torment your characters a bit more. ^^
