The word "condolences" seems so tediously formulaic, so I'll simply offer some true sympathy.

Since I went through this last year with my aunt, I should know precise things to say and those not to say. But I don't. If you need to talk or just want to, I will be on AIM around six-thirty, my time.

Yeah, my family has a tradition we call "sick soup". Lipton's Chicken & Noodle instant. You are ONLY ALLOWED TO HAVE IT IF YOU ARE SICK. So, there is a small, amusing treat that comes along with being sick. ;)
