Had my French dictation exam today..i have no idea how it went, i suspect badly, i've probably made all sorts of mistakes with accents and agreements

Thank you :) i'm just so disappointed with myself..i guess i'll just have to work really hard for my exams and try to push my overall mark up :/

Aww :( sometimes marks like that just happen... don't get too stressed about it. I know someone who ended up with a 1st overall and still got a 2:2 on their dissertation.

I got told that dissertations for the English Department are on average 10 marks lower than what each student normally gets for essays.

I got 58 for my philosophy dissertation. and i spent most of the easter break working on it. it really really sucked, but it wasn't the end of the world. it's only 10 credits, not very much at all, so don't worry too much about it, and try not to let it knock your confidence. the best thing to do is to just draw a line under it, chalk it up to experience and then forget about it. it really doesn't matter very much. one not great mark doesn't make or break a degree.

Thanks Laura :) I think I maybe overreacted a little yesterday because i'd expected to do better, but I guess i should be concentrating on my finals instead of stuff i've already done :)
