I can understand why you feel badly. Figuring out questions of right decisions and wrong decisions is hard enough without our feelings getting involved. And feelings have a way of getting involved, needless to say.
By the way, I have it on good authority that nobody has a monopoly on confusing-ness. We're all confusing, and life is confusing, and it's up to all of us to keep at it anyway, no?
You learn more from trying and falling flat on your face then from trying and having everything turn out great. So congrats, you are now a very learned person.
Something I very much believe in is: The best thing you can do is take a risk that turns out good for you. The next best thing you can do is take a risk that turns out bad for you. The worst thing you can do is not take a risk at all.
I mean, nobody lays on their death bed wishing they had tried less stuff, or had less experiences.
Though I do not know the guy who posted right above me I must echo his sentiments. He has the right idea and speaking of someone who you know has been burned badly in this manner he is still right. Going out and trying something is always better than just staying home.
