It was my first day on the job, and I was very nervous. I searched around my closet (that's right, Wolfram and Hart already had taken care of my housing - those guys are quick). It turned out to be the same outfit that I had worn to the job interview, because I hadn't gone shopping.

I had even gotten a to-go cup of coffee, I was so nervous, and that was saying something. I in general don't drink a lot of coffee, because it gets me all excited, but today that seemed like a good thing.

Lorne (aka my new boss) was waiting in the lobby for me when I arrived and I was ten minutes early.

"Hello," I said to Lorne when I met up with him in the lobby.

I checked my watch just as Clem appeared through the elevator doors. "Clem!" I greeted him fondly, then almost immdiately handed him a briefcase. "Glad to see you're here. We've got a busy busy day, lots of meetings, lots of clients, and lots of opportunity for you to learn the ropes and be the best damn assistant this firm has ever seen!"

I was already pretty gung-go to get this day started. Enthusiasm was practically dripping off of me, and hopefully some of that sunny-sunshine would rub off on Clem here. I don't know why I was in such a good mood today now that my new assistant was here. I guess maybe it was because I had high hopes for him. Who knows.

"Alright!," I jeered. "Let's get crackin!"

He seemed excited, so that made me happier. I smiled, as I threw away my half-finished coffee.

"So what's first on the adgenda for today?" I asked my boss.

I handed him 2 of my cellphones. "First on the agenda my friend," I told him, "Is to head up to my office to get you acquainted with my schedules and the whereabouts of the more important things and places of this firm. Perhaps a tour, if you haven't already had one."

I swaggered down the hallway, talking over my shoulder as I did so. "I have a meeting later on today which I would like you to sit in on," I went on, "You know, just so you can get a proper feel for things."

I twirled my left hand around as I rambled on, casually gesturing to punctuate my words.

Clem and I entered the boardroom and there were about a dozen or so people sitting there, waiting for my arrival. They looked to me when I arrived, and closed the door behind my new assistant.

"Sorry I'm late," I apologized to everyone in the room. "I was just showing my new assistant the ropes." I smiled to Clem and motioned for him to have a seat at the table.

"He'll be sitting in on this meeting because well, I said so," I told them, taking my chair beside Clem at the head of the table.

"Now," I said matter-of-factly. "Let's make this one quick. I have a party I need to plan."

I leaned back in my chair. "They're going to rant and rave at each other for awhile," I whispered to Clem. I normally just smile and nod. Hopefully this one wont be too painful."

I smiled as he whispered at me about the people that were at the meeting. I looked around at the group, hopefully this meeting would go pretty fast. And what was that that Lorne said about planning a party? That sounded fun, I'd love to help him with that. Parties are my style.

The meeting drawled on forever and ever and ever, but eventually it came to a close and the lawyers and the agents and the actor had finally come to a compromise. What luck, no bloodshed this afternoon. It was always a definate bonus.

After everyone had left, I looked over at Clem.

"Alright," I said. "With that mess out of the way, we have a party to plan. Let's go."

((I'm starting a new thread))
