"Hey, yeah," I told her, sitting up. Looking at her. She looked equally as sleep-deprived and she was wearing hospital clothes.
"I like the outfit," I said pointing at her. "Where did you get that?" I asked, trying to avoid the subject of the fight, though I knew it eventually would come up. So many people were gone, and . . . well, it was going to be hard to not talk about such a big thing sooner or later, I thought.
And then there were other big things to be discussed: if we're going back to training, for instance, or where we're going to stay, or if Wolfram and Hart are going to send us back home. I'd had a lot of time to think while I was in the hospital, and I wasn't sure if that was a good thing.

"One of the late shift nurses, Vanessa, knew that I couldn't sleep at night so she snuck some scrubs into my room for me so that I can wander around the hospital at night without getting into trouble. All you have to do is carry a clipboard around and look busy. No one will look twice at you. I could always have her get you a pair too. We could be stealthy night buddies. Seeing everything, seen by no one." I grinned cheesily at my stupid joke before clearing my throat as the silence again set in.
